Meet Dave

For over 15 years, I’ve worked in radio stations and studios across the country, including New York City, Dallas, Alaska, and the Pacific Northwest, where I’m currently based. In 2019, after the better part of a decade in big-market radio, I headed north to Sitka to work in Alaska radio at KCAW.

That move changed the way I understood radio. In Alaska, I was reminded that this medium is more than music, talk, or entertainment. At its best, radio is connection. It is information. It is expression. It is a place where communities can hear themselves, and where artists can be discovered, celebrated, and remembered.

Radio in Alaska is like nowhere else in the country. It still holds real value in the lives of its listeners and in the communities it serves. That experience reminded me why I love this craft, why I do it, and who I do it for.

I’ve never been a musician, so Alaska’s Fresh Catch is my contribution to the creative community of the best state in the union. It’s an honor to use this platform to celebrate the musicians of the 49th state and place them, rightfully, alongside artists on the national and global stage.
